The Las Rosas coffee is an initiative aimed at recognizing and promoting the work of women on coffee plantations, whether it is their role in picking, processing coffee or their contribution to the within the communities they support.
Las Rosas is now the name given to a cooperative bringing together more than 300 farmers who proudly produce their own coffee.
Here are some actions that have been taken to remedy existing gender inequalities:
- Guarantee sales prices that allow the cooperative to cover their production costs
- Organize training accessible to women members of the coop
- Establish a revolving credit fund for coop members
We are proud to support a project that makes the work of women visible and allows them to realize their vision of the future of coffee.
